It was a fantastic and action packed weekend for our Venture Section as three of our ventures proudly took on the Chief Scout’s Challenge, EPIC. Well done to all involved for embracing this exciting year long initiative that encourages active participation across four key pillars of Scouting:
- Environment – engaging with nature, conservation, and sustainability
- Programme – delivering a vibrant and varied programme
- Investiture – celebrating Scouting identity and tradition
- Camping – enjoying outdoor adventure and camping together
As part of the EPIC challenge, our ventures carefully planned and held their reinvestiture ceremony on Friday evening. It was a well organised and meaningful event, celebrating commitment, growth, and Scouting values. Bravo to everyone who helped make the night such a success, and well done to all who were reinvested.
Following the ceremony, the celebrations continued with an activity filled weekend in Galway. The ventures enjoyed a fun mix of bowling, a visit to the Christmas markets, and settling down together for a festive Christmas movie. An overnight stay in Renmore Scout Den rounded off a great day of laughter, friendship, and seasonal spirit.
On Sunday morning, the group took part in a county planning meeting, contributing ideas and looking ahead with enthusiasm to the year to come. It was a great opportunity to have their voices heard and to help shape the future of Scouting locally.
Looking ahead, our ventures are also hoping to get out on a hike over the Christmas break, continuing their outdoor adventures and commitment to the EPIC challenge.
From all of us in the Venture Section, we wish everyone a merry, safe Christmas and a fantastic New Year. We look forward to many more adventures in the months ahead! 🎄✨
